All on 4™ metoda
Can only four implants replace all teeth in one jaw? Due to the advancement of dental implant technology, the answer is – yes! Tooth loss is very common among adults, especially as we age, because of caries, periodontitis and other diseases of the oral cavity. To avoid the discomfort that this problem brings, there is a possibility of replacing all the teeth in one jaw with only 4 implants in 24 hours. To fully understand this remarkable dental implantation technique, you first need to understand what a dental implant is. An implant is a small titanium screw that is placed into your jaw and replaces the root of the missing tooth. A minor surgical procedure is required to place the implant. After implant placement, it is necessary to wait for osseointegration (integration of the implants with the bone), which usually lasts for 3-6 months. After that, a titanium extension is placed to the implant, and a crown is placed on the extension, which will restore your lost functionality and esthetics. In such manner we make up for one tooth.
What’s most interesting about the All on 4™ technique – you don’t need a dental implant for each tooth lost. All you need are four properly positioned implants in the upper jaw and four in the lower jaw to restore your full smile. You also get your smile within 24 hours of implant placement. That’s the beauty of the All on 4™ method.
Because implants are made of titanium, they are biocompatible, which means they function as part of your body. They become part of your jaw and serve as a firm, long-lasting foundation for your new teeth.
Ideal candidates for this method are patients who already have an edentulous jaw and for some reason cannot wear a full denture, and patients whose remaining teeth cannot be repaired and included in prosthesis.
The biggest surprise of the All on 4™ method is how quickly it can change your life.
By combining the precision technology used to perform the All on 4™ procedure and our expert team of dentists, at dental practice DS Dent we can give you the smile you’ve always dreamed of in just one day!
About original All on 4™ method
We would like to inform you about All on 4™ treatment performed by our clinic’s expert team. All on 4™ method means that all teeth are being supported on four implants. It is a reconstruction of all teeth of one jaw on four specially placed implants.
The implantation of dental implants is followed by the preparation of temporary fixed prosthesis within 24 hours (teeth within 24 hours) after surgery, and after an osseointegration period (integration of the implants with the bone), which is a period of 3-6 months, permanent fixed prosthesis is done.
This method is applied when it is not possible to directly implant the implants in the posterior parts of the jaw and to avoid additional surgical procedures which would provide enough bone to place the implants in the posterior parts of the jaw.
The treatment concept with All on 4™ method using tilted implants is the best solution for an edentulous jaw when using Nobel Biocare implants.
All on 4™ method was pioneered by prof. Paulo Malo with Nobel Biocare implants in 1998, and it is scientifically proven that the concept has been functioning on Nobel Biocare implants for more than 20 years.
Our dentist Marko had been trained for All on 4™ treatment by prof. Malo at Malo Clinic in Lisbon. Therefore, we can proudly say that in our practice we work on the original All on 4™ method, because we use Nobel Biocare implants according to the concept of prof. Paulo Malo.
We emphasize all this because nowadays all kinds of procedures are called All on 4™, which they are not by any means, because they do not adhere to the postulates that are necessary for success and longevity of work and do not work with proven implant systems developed for All on 4™.
That is why we deemed that it is necessary to inform you of the original method because it has been scientifically proven and has been functioning for over 20 years, and you will decide for yourself what is best for your health and the well-being of the whole organism.
